Snow Day Activities
Build a fort.
Besides the fun
of designing and
creating the fort,
it's a comfy spot for
reading, coloring or
pretend play.
1.
Help someone.
Brainstorm about
whether someone in
your neighborhood
needs help shoveling
snow or would enjoy
a yummy treat you've
baked.
2.
Make soapy foam to play with.
In a food processor or blender,
combine some dish soap
with water until frothy and bubbly.
Put it in a plastic container
or baking sheet
and let kids play with it
with measuring cups, spoons,
or their hands. You can also give
them some old rags
and have them wipe up spills
and/or clean off kitchen cabinets.
Make frozen bubbles.
Go outside
and blow a bubble
with bubble solution,
catch it on your wand,
and wait a few moments.
It will freeze into an ice
bubble before shattering.
5.
Color the snow.
Fill spray bottles
with water and food
coloring and let kids
spray designs onto
the snow.
