when something needs fixing!" Wilkerson said, laughing. Although it was created as a bed and breakfast, The Corner House quickly ex-panded. "I started using it for bridal and baby showers as well as anniversary and birthday parties on the back patio. Then people asked if I'd do wedding receptions. Our first had 100 guests and we kept ex- panding and had to erect a tent for one with 250." Last year, she enlisted the help of more locals to construct two huge rustic barns to host receptions. "The Amish built them in seven weeks from wood they grew on their own land — oak on the ex-terior and poplar inside. We had to build two since, by law, each one could only hold up to 99 people without the need for sprinklers. But both have a whole open side and face each other, with a dance area in between. I already have 29 weddings scheduled for 2017 and eight for 2018. There's also a small covered pavil-ion that serves as a scenic wedding site. It overlooks the house from a hill about with 26 wooden benches built by Kyle Wilker-son, who also helps manage the wedding venue.
